Throughout our years of servicing the healthcare field we have encountered many physicians who are conflicted, even afraid to outsource to a medical billing agency. Firstly, they are afraid that if they let their billing out of their office, somehow they are relinquishing their power over their own cashflow. And then they wonder, do I now have to fire my office staff who has become like family to me?? And so the panic begins, sometimes even causing the doctor to choose inaction instead of making what they construe as a painful decision. It’s been tough for us to watch when a struggling doctor’s office, rather than seeing the writing on the wall, chooses instead to allow their revenue to decline, thereby jeopardizing their own practice! We spoke to a colleague recently who told us stories of doctors taking second mortgages on their own homes just to maintain the finances of their practice!
Now imagine if you were a physician and could come to your office everyday knowing that you could practice medicine instead of constantly worry about cashflow?
In reality, utilizing a professional medical billing agency will transform your practice. Imagine how efficient an office can be when working together with a medical billing company who is handling the details of generated cash flow. Instead of arguing with insurance companies, your staff can focus on complementing you as a healer, perhaps by generating a new patient flow or simply maintaining patient satisfaction and rapport. A professional medical billing agency will possess and utilize their strengths in organization, billing and collections and allow your staff to focus on your patient’s needs. You can now refocus your staff on supporting you as a healer.
The power is yours when you find the right company. When you begin your search, we hope you will consider Medical Account Solutions!
In choosing a billing comapny, among the many other things – be sure they can bill for the additional % from Medicare PQRI and e-prescribing. If you can’t get this money by using a billing company, your costs will be that much higher.
Thank you, Robert. We also believe a good medical billing company should always look for those added “veins of gold” that build momentum and makes a difference in a medical practice’s cash flow and bottom line.
We are all products of our programming. The problems doctors are facing, in an ever changing medical environment, need to be addressed by looking at things in a new way. Unfortunately, the fear surrounding change keeps many prisoners, stuck in doing things the way they have always been done in the past. Outsourcing billing with a great billing company enhances the staff’s ability to develop a more efficient office, reduces the doctor’s stress concerning his outstanding bills, and frees both doctor and staff to provide the best services for the patient. I think everybody wins. What do you think, Bill?
Yes Jean… once a practice overcomes their old patterns of keeping their A/R in house. They quickly learn why the growing trend is to outsource all or even part of it to a qualified billing agency. One of the expressions we use is “do what you do best and hire out the rest.” And now a true “win, win” is created. The doctors heal as the staff and billing company work hand in hand to build cash flow.
“…perhaps by generating a new patient flow or simply maintaining patient satisfaction and rapport.”
I cannot tell you how many times I have judged the Dr. by the politeness of his/her staff. It is truly frustrating to be dealt with like a widget instead of a patient by an overworked staff. I refuse to see a physician who has a staff that talks to me rudely, is condescending and curt. If a Dr. cannot run his business in an efficient manner, can he be maintaining my health efficiently?
I absolutely agree, Craig. I don’t go to “conveyor belt” doctors. In one door and out the other. No one has time and the doctor is too busy to listen to the patient.
